Bayora was born from a simple idea, to help you discover books you'll truly love and make the experience a delightful surprise.
The Name
Bayaz, rooted in Persian and Urdu literary tradition, refers to a personal collection of poetry, verses and writings gathered over time.
Ancora, in Italian, can mean again or still. To us, it carries the idea that there is always something more waiting to be discovered.
Bayora brings those two ideas together. A shelf shaped by the books you have loved, and the curiosity to keep discovering what comes next.
John Steinbeck once wrote, “I guess there are never enough books.” We like to think that is the point. A collection is never really finished. There is always another story to lose yourself in, another writer to discover, another book you never knew you were looking for.
Bayora is the joy of finding one more.
Our Mission
There are far too many good books out there and only so many hours in the day. Between work, life and everything else, finding the time to read is hard enough without spending half of it trying to figure out what to read.
We don't want that to happen. So, we use what we learn about you, your tastes, your library, your favourites and your not-so-favourites, together with intelligent technology to make that choice a little easier.
We want to make sure that there is a lot less time spent scrolling and second-guessing and more time spent actually reading, discovering, and occasionally wondering, “where has this book been all my life?”
There are more books to out there than any of us could ever read. Yet finding the next one can mean scrolling through endless lists, reviews and recommendations. Sometimes, it's nice to let someone else choose and simply start reading.
Reading taste is personal. The books you love, the ones you can't finish, and what you look for in a good read are uniquely yours. So why should your next book be based on what worked for a stranger on the internet? We'd rather get to know your taste and recommend books for you.
Surprises make even an ordinary day feel a lot more special. The rush we get from finally getting to open something that was put together just for us is particularly special. And we think everyone deserves a little more of that.
