4. Reading Profiles and Recommendations

A central part of Bayora is creating book recommendations around your individual reading taste.

To do this, Bayora uses information such as your genres, themes, reading preferences, reading library, ratings, book feedback and other relevant reading-related information to build and update your reading profile.

Bayora may use a third-party technology provider to assist with parts of the recommendation process. Information sent for this purpose may include genres, themes, reading preferences, ratings, book feedback and information about candidate books.

We do not include your name, email address, Bayora user ID, delivery address or phone number in the recommendation request sent to that provider.

Recommendations are intended to help us select books that may suit your reading taste, but no recommendation system can guarantee that you will enjoy every book selected.

5. Payments

Bayora uses Razorpay to support payment processing. When you make a payment, information necessary to complete and manage the transaction may be processed by Razorpay in accordance with its own privacy practices and the services it provides to us.

Bayora does not need to store your complete payment card details in order to provide the Reading Box service. Payment information handled directly by Razorpay is subject to Razorpay's applicable terms and privacy practices.

6. Service Providers and How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share or make information available to service providers where reasonably necessary to operate Bayora.

We may also provide the information necessary to fulfil and deliver an order to shipping, courier or fulfilment providers. The specific provider may vary depending on the order and delivery location.

We may disclose information where reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law or legal process, protect our legal rights or the rights and safety of others, investigate fraud or misuse, or protect the security of Bayora.

Information may also be transferred as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, sale of assets or similar business transaction, subject to applicable law.

7. Email and Marketing Communications

If you choose to subscribe to Bayora's newsletter or other marketing emails, we may use your email address to send those communications. We currently use Resend to support email delivery.

You may unsubscribe from marketing communications using the unsubscribe option provided in the relevant email. You may still receive non-marketing communications where necessary, such as messages relating to your account, orders, security or customer-support requests.

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, including providing Bayora's services, maintaining your account, fulfilling orders, resolving disputes and complying with legal, tax, accounting or regulatory obligations.

Different categories of information may therefore be retained for different periods.

If you request deletion of your account or personal information, we will process the request in accordance with applicable law. Some information may need to be retained where required for legal compliance, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, accounting, tax or other legitimate purposes permitted by law.
